How the beta works

Four steps to the app

No store and no password. After that, updates arrive inside the app.

  1. Step 1: Create a free account

On the dashboard at app.gallen.io. We email you a sign-in code; there is no password.

  2. Step 2: Open Get the app

In the dashboard, scan the QR code with your Android phone, or tap Download on the phone itself.

  3. Step 3: Allow the install once

Android asks once to allow installs from this source. Allow it, then install Gallen.

  4. Step 4: Open Gallen and sign in

Then pair your strap or ring. Every optional feature starts switched off.

  • It is a betaExpect rough edges, and tell us when something breaks.
  • Updates arrive inside the appNo need to download it again for most fixes.
  • Android only for nowAndroid 8.0 or newer. iOS later.

Works with

Tested devices

Gallen talks to these devices directly over Bluetooth. They are the ones it has been tested with.

Strap
WHOOP 5.0 / MGTested with. Live heart rate, history, steps and battery.
Ring
Oura Ring 4Tested with; support is newer than the strap's. Pairing gives the ring Gallen's own key, so the ring's own app can no longer connect to it.

Tested with, not certified. Other models are not supported yet. Device names are trademarks of their respective owners; Gallen is independent and not affiliated with or endorsed by their makers.

When is the public release?

Public release not announced. The beta is open now.

Which phones will it work on?

Android 8.0 or newer. Health Connect export needs Android 9 or newer. There is no iOS version yet; it comes later.

Will it cost anything?

Nothing during the beta. There is no subscription, and we'll tell you before anything changes.
